Romania - guest of honor at the 2018 Leipzig Book Fair, 15-18 March

Romania is the guest of honor at this year's edition of the International Book Fair in Leipzig, Germany, starting March 15 until March 18.

At the first major German Book Fair of the spring, around 2,400 exhibitors from over 40 countries will present their works to approximately 200,000 visitors.

Romanian Ministry of Culture will organize more than 60 events, including “Romanian Film Days”, and over 40 new translations will be presented for the first time at the Leipzig Book Fair. Public will have the opportunity to meet 2009 Nobel Prize Winner Herta Müller and Romanian musician Ada Milea.

Leipzig Book Fair is the most important European event dedicated to promoting reading and one of the oldest of its kind in the world.

German Embassy in Bucharest wishes Romania “Good luck and enjoyable reading!”, on a banner placed on the Embassy’s building.
