Liviu Vasilescu is the new chief of the Romanian Police. He has been appointed to run the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, according to a decision published on Tuesday in the Official Gazette.
Prior to that, Vasilescu has been Head of the Special Operations Directorate within the Police Inspectorate.
The post of chief of the Romanian Police remained vacant after dismissal of Ioan Buda because of poor management of the Caracal murder case.
