Galati: Five people injured in the explosion in a block of flats

The City Hall of Galati has started, as a matter of urgency, social investigations for the accommodation of the people evacuated from the block in the center of Galati, affected by an explosion that took place yesterday morning.
According to the municipality, it has sufficient accommodation spaces, both in a block of social housing and in two sports facilities - Siderurgistul Hall and the Artificial Skating Rink, if necessary.
At the same time, Distrigaz Sud reported that at the site of the explosion there were no gas leaks from the block's distribution network.
We remind you, yesterday morning, on the ground floor of a block of flats in the center of Galati, a strong explosion took place, which seriously injured one person and slightly, four other residents of the block.
The owner of the apartment where the explosion took place, an 86-year-old man, was transported to the hospital, with burns on 50% of his body, while the rest of the injured occupants did not need hospitalization.
In total, 21 people were evacuated from the block, and they will return to the apartments only after the specialists will determine whether or not the resistance structure of the building was affected.
According to ISU Galati, from the first data, the cause of the explosion was the accumulation of gas from the thermal power plant of the apartment, but the investigations continue.
