Most popular sports commentator in Romania, journalist Cristian Ţopescu, died on Tuesday, at the age of 81, due to multiple chronic diseases that led to a cardiorespiratory arrest, according to medical doctors.
Ţopescu has been in intensive care for a week at the Elias Hospital in Bucharest.
He is survived by his wife and three children, one of them - TV news-presenter Cristina Ţopescu.
