Ceremonies on the Union of the Principalities Day

The Ministry of National Defense will organize today, in the garrisons where there are monuments dedicated to the Union of the Principalities, military and religious ceremonies, on the occasion of celebrating 162 years since this historic event.
The Minister of Defense, Nicolae Ciuca and the Chief of the Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, will participate, at noon, in a ceremony organized in the Capital.
The ritual of this ceremony consists of the laying of wreaths at the statue of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, located in the Hill of the Romanian Patriarchate.
For health security reasons, participants will not be allowed to hold each other in "Hora Unirii", as it happened in previous years, it is shown in a press release.
