Bogdan Aurescu: Romania, an active promoter of the open door policy

Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu stressed in Berlin, where he attended the NATO partners' meeting on the prospects of Finland and Sweden joining the alliance, that Romania is an active promoter of the open door policy.

The head of diplomacy in Bucharest said that the accession of the two states will make the alliance stronger.

Bogdan Aurescu underlined that the future contribution of Sweden and Finland to the process of consolidating NATO's deterrence and defense position on the eastern flank, in a balanced manner from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea in the long term, is very important for Romania, especially in the current context affected by Russia's illegal aggression against Ukraine.
