Brexit will neither affect London's relations with Bucharest, nor the life of Romanians working in the UK, says New British Ambassador to Bucharest, Andrew Noble.
A new strategic partnership between the UK and Romania is under way, to address current concerns, Ambassador Noble said in his first press conference after taking office in Bucharest.
Andrew Noble: "We are working together with the Romanian Government for a new strategic partnership between the UK and Romania. We already have a partnership, but it needs to be upgraded and modernized for today's concerns". We need a strategic partnership to respond to the challenges of a new Europe and I certainly refer to the Brexit issue, which will be very important both during and after this negotiation period in Brussels".
Ambassador Andrew Noble has submitted copies of accreditation letters to the Romanian Foreign Ministry, and will present the original papers to President Klaus Iohannis in the coming period.
British official returned to Romania after almost 30 years.
During 1983-1986 he worked at the British Embassy in Bucharest.
