Afghan migrants caught at Romania's border with Serbia

Two guides and 10 Afghan citizens who illegally crossed the border from Serbia to Romania were caught at night by the border police in Timis County.
The migrants, aged between 16 and 26, were found near Deta in two cars driven by two Romanian citizens. Following the investigations, it was found that the Afghans intended to arrive in Timisoara, in order to then continue their journey to Western Europe.
Investigations continue for the crime of fraudulent crossing of the state border and migrant smuggling.
