Anti-hail system at Romania-Hungary border
System will protect crops from Satu Mare (Ro) and Szabolcs Szatmar Bereg (Hu) areas. In the Satu Mare County, 40 anti-hail cannons will be set to disperse silver iodide particles.

A defense system against hail in Satu Mare and Szabolcs Szatmar Bereg counties in Hungary will be financed by European funds, announced Satu Mare County Council President, Pataki Csaba.
Anti-hail system project provides for a cross-border defense system in the counties of Satu Mare (Romania) and Szabolcs Szatmar Bereg (Hungary). In the Satu Mare County, 40 anti-hail cannons will be set to disperse in the air silver iodide particles, in case of hail alert.
Total value of the project is almost 2 million euros, out of which Romania will have about 1.3 million euros.
