Romanian-Croatian economic and commercial relations and preparations of Romania to take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1, 2019 have been top issues discussed on Monday in Zagreb by Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă with her Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković.

Prime Minister Dăncilă also met with Croatian Head of State, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković.

During these meetings, Romanian Prime Minister stressed that the EU's enlargement with the Western Balkan states is a priority of the future Romanian EU Presidency. Romania remains committed to political support and technical assistance in advancing reforms in the states of the region in the process of getting closer to Euro-Atlantic structures, Viorica Dăncilă added.

Head of the Bucharest Government participated, at the same time, in the opening of the summit of Heads of Government from the Central European Initiative Member States.
