The execution place of Ceausescu became museum point, following a decision of the local authorities to introduce the military unit from Targoviste train station in the touristic circuit.

The building, which was opened for the public Tuesday, was upgraded so that it still looks like in December 1989, when the dictatorial couple was executed, judged by a military court for genocide and impairing the state power.

For upgrading the exposition, the original furniture existent within the building in December 1989 was used.

The walls were painted in the same colors of those days and were also found the beds on which the two slept while they stayed in the military unit in Targoviste.

"I discovered now that there is a certain curiosity from the public. For several days, many people come and ask when the museum will open, when they can come and visit it", states Dambovita County Council president, Adrian Tutuianu.

"The actual idea of making a small museum here came from the very often requests that we received from foreign visitors especially to visit this location", explained Adrian Tutuianu.

After 1989, the wall in front of which were executed Elena and Nicolae Ceausescu was daubed.

Some modifications were made also when Sergiu Nicolaescu shot "Revolution, zero point".

Within this exposition, though, the museum specialists restored the wall and the original marks of bullets can now be observed.
