Romania deserves an important EU Commissioner portfolio, considering that so far it managed to coordinate two important areas, Agriculture and Regional Development, Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă said on Tuesday in Brussels during talks with future President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who will take office this fall.

RRA Special Envoy in Brussels, Andrei Şerban: As Viorica Dăncilă underlined, Romania deserves an important field, such as Transport or the Environment. In an exclusive interview for Radio Romania News, Romanian Prime Minister has stated that the person who will be European Commissioner from Romania has not yet been discussed, explaining that Commissioner will be named depending on the area to be granted.

Two high-ranking officials have also discussed future priorities of the European Commission, and on this occasion Ursula von der Leyen has congratulated Viorica Dăncilă on the very good results Romania achieved during its first Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January-June 2019).
