Vaccination of education workers should begin next week

Articol de Radiojurnal, 21 Februarie 2021, 20:07

The immunization campaign against COVID-19 continues throughout the country, and the vaccination with priority of the 60.000 education employees should start next week.

For them, it will not be necessary to make an appointment on the dedicated platform, and the coordinator of the campaign, Valeriu Gheorghita, hopes that within a week the vaccination of the education staff will end.

Valeriu Gheorghita: The data are centralized by each educational unit and sent to the school inspectorates; in collaboration with the Public Health Directorate, the locations where the vaccination activity will take place are established. In principle, in each county there are about two locations, in the Teaching Staff House; also in the counties where there are universities, in the spaces related to them. There are about 22 vaccination offices in Bucharest, which will probably be rounded up to Romexpo. We want to be able to complete the vaccination of education staff within a week. We are talking about 60.000 people, in addition to those who are already scheduled.

Host: In the two weeks since the beginning of the second semester, when preschoolers and most students returned physically to class, more than 800 children and almost 640 employees of the education system were confirmed with COVID-19, according to data announced by the Ministry of Education.
