Romania is an example in the region and in the world, through its commitment to respect human rights and through its efforts to strengthen the rule of law, good governance and the independence of the judiciary, US Republican Senator John McCain said in Washington.

Senator McCain sent a message on the occasion of Romania’s National Day on December 1st, which was read by the Romanian Ambassador to the United States, George Cristian Maior, at a reception that took place yesterday at the diplomatic mission headquarters.

Republican Congressman Francis Rooney, Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, appreciated too the special ties between Romania and the United States and the fact that the two countries are mutually supporting each other.

Also, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Elizabeth Millard, showed that America remains a devoted ally of Romania and appreciated the allocation by our country of two percent of the gross domestic product for the Defense.
