Tourists from 10 countries can now enter Spain without health restrictions

RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Since yesterday, Spain allows the entry of tourists from 10 countries without health restrictions, among them is Great Britain, Israel and Japan.

The vaccination campaign continues, with the distribution of 1.7 million vaccines from Pfizer, and the number of patients in Intensive Care is decreasing. Anamaria Damian reports.

Reporter: The British, Japanese, Israelis and Australians can enter Spain without PCR tests and without quarantine, due to the fact that their countries are considered epidemiologically safe.

Spain is thus trying to recover at least 60% of the tourists who visited in 2019.

These are mainly the British, who are the most numerous foreign visitors, their number two years ago being 18 million.

Spain is advancing in the vaccination campaign with safe steps, distributing to the regions almost two million doses from Pfizer.

Almost 35% of Spaniards have received at least one dose of vaccine so far, and authorities have announced that the immunization of the largest population, about eight million people aged between 40 and 50, will begin in June.

The number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing, as is that of patients in serious condition admitted to Intensive Care Units, the occupancy rate being below 17 percent, with large differences between regions.

Madrid now has 35% of ICU seats occupied, while the northern region of Galicia has only 3%.
