Timișoara: New born, child, mother die following disinfection

A newborn baby (10 days), three year-old child and the latter’s mom (29 years old) died following disinfection that took place on Friday, 15 November, in a building in Timișoara, Romania. Nine children and eight adults are currently hospitalized. Timiș County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations has announced that a neurotoxic substance had been detected on the staircase. Local authorities have evacuated the 200-apartment building and have required all tenants to go to the hospital for medical tests.

Head of ISU Banat, Lucian Mihoc: Following conduct of the first chemical research, investigators have found a neurotoxic substance on the stairs, between the third and fourth floors. Deaths have been reported in apartments on the fourth floor.
