"There will be no qualitative difference" between NATO allies

There will no longer be a qualitative difference between the allies in Western and Eastern Europe from a military and strategic point of view, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana announced in a NATO Day message, and at the Madrid summit they will make decisions with historic consequences for the alliance's permanent and robust presence on the East Side, he added.

Also on NATO Day, President Klaus Iohannis mentioned that the decision to create the fighting group in Romania reflects the determination and allied solidarity, and Romanians now benefit from the strongest security guarantees in history.

In addition, Romania will make every effort to increase and strengthen the NATO and US military presence, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca also said. Romania marked, today, NATO Day in a security context significantly changed by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
