The week ends today with the most new cases of COVID-19, since the beginning of the epidemic, in Romania - almost 9.900.
The afternoon report also indicated the highest level of new infections for a Sunday - 1.438, out of 13.500 tests performed; practically, over 10% of the results were positive.
Also, there was a new record for patients in intensive care units: there are currently 535. The national infection rate compared to the last 14 days has steadily increased recently and reached today 0.86 per thousand inhabitants.
Almost double is registered in Valcea, which exceeded 1.5 cases per thousand inhabitants, an indicator taken into account for carrying out activities in closed spaces.
Bucharest continues to lead in the daily ranking with over 200 new cases today, followed by Vaslui, which exceeded 100.
