The United States has no signal of any direct military threat from Russia to the Republic of Moldova or Romania.
A spokesman for the US State Department made this comment after Ukraine claimed that several Russian missiles had entered the airspace of the two states.
He assured that the US maintains permanent contact with partners from the Republic of Moldova and allies from Romania.
The authorities in Bucharest denied that any Russian missile launched from the Crimean peninsula had entered Romanian airspace and specified that it was closest to the Romanian border 35 kilometers away.
On the other hand, the officials from Chisinau confirmed that a Russian missile entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, and the ambassador of the Russian Federation was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a sign of protest.
