The state of alert will not be extended in Romania after March 8.
The announcement was made by President Klaus Iohannis, who explained that the COVID-19 epidemic is on an accelerated downward slope, and wave 5 is about to end.
The decision was taken after an evaluation meeting with officials in the field, which was attended by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, as well as other cabinet ministers.
