The Sălaj ‘palinka’ – protected trademark in the EU

The procedure for obtaining the certificate of registered product of the Sălaj palinka in the European Union has been completed.

The Employers’ Association of Natural Palinka Producers in Salaj is now waiting for the certificate of registered product from the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, in order to be able to sell the Salaj Palinka in the major retail chains.

Grigore Ardelean, the President of ANPP Sălaj stated that the plum palinka has become a real brand for Sălaj and the county became know in our country and abroad due to the famous traditional drink that has no shelf life.

The county of Sălaj hosts an annual contest to determine the best palinka in Transylvania, action which has already become tradition.
