The number of drug users has risen dramatically in Bucharest

The number of drug users, especially ethnobotanical, has risen dramatically in Bucharest, warned Romanian Harm Reduction Association.

Many of them have hepatitis C, or are HIV infected. According to data presented by the executive director of the Association, Valentin Simionov, in the last two years the number of cases of officially registered HIV infection reached almost 360, compared to the period between 2007-2010, when there were 28 such cases.

The Association also points out that, socially, there is a marginalization of drug users, associated with criminal behaviours, RADIO ROMANIA reports.
