RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Ministry of Transport signed the first NRRP financing contracts for new trains and locomotives. It is about three contracts with a total value of almost one and a half billion lei, with non-refundable European financing for the purchase of 20 new electric trains, 12 hydrogen frames and 16 new electric locomotives.
Alex Lancuzov, with details: "The most advanced tender with funds from the NRRPx carried out by the Railway Reform Authority is the procurement procedure for 20 long-distance electric trains, where it received two offers and will announce the winners in a few weeks.
About the situation of the contracts for the electric locomotives and the hydrogen frames, I spoke with the president of the Railway Reform Authority, Stefan Roseanu: "With regard to the electric locomotives, we are also in the phase of technical evaluation of the received offer and that is why we are optimistic that we will fit in here as well without problems, in May - June, we can declare the winner. For the hydrogen frames, the most complex project that we currently have in the portfolio - we are in the phase of submitting offers until May 8, after which we will enter the phases of evaluating them."
The NRRP calendar provides for the signing of the three contracts this summer, and the delivery of the trains and locomotives no later than three years from now."
