The government will double the funds for environmental programs

The government will double the funds for environmental programs, such as the Green House, that include photovoltaic panel installation projects, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca announced.
He stated at the beginning of the Government meeting that the number of beneficiaries could reach 80.000.
Nicolae Ciuca: We assumed that at the Government level we would practically double the funds allocated for these projects. Approximately 2 billion euros will be allocated for the installation of photovoltaic panels and, in this way, the number of beneficiaries can go up to 80.000 households.
The Minister of the Environment, Tanczos Barna, explained that not only individuals will be supported in the installation of photovoltaic panels, but also those units that provide social assistance to vulnerable people.
Regarding the Rabla program, it is intended to remove from traffic, in collaboration with the local authorities, 100 thousand vehicles older than 15 years, with the final target being a quarter of a million scrapped.
Tanczos Barna also referred to new waste management programs.
Tanczos Barna: 250 thousand polluting means of transport taken out of traffic during the NRRP period. The target can be reached through the Rabla plus, Rabla classic and Rabla local programs, as early as 2023. We are also coming up with two new programs, financed from the environmental fund, the program for the development of waste management systems. There is a huge need, at the level of administrative-territorial units, for complementarity with the programs financed from European funds.
