The government meeting scheduled to start at 12 o'clock was postponed for an unspecified period of time. On the agenda are set for approval the state budget and social insurance projects for 2024.

The government postponed the start of the meeting because it was waiting for the opinions from the Economic and Social Council and the Legislative Council for the normative acts that are on the agenda. These opinions are advisory, which means that the executive can take them into account or not, but cannot adopt any normative act in the session without them.

The Economic and Social Council announced a short time ago that it gave a negative opinion to the draft law on the state social insurance budget, the draft law on next year's budget and the draft law on approving the ceilings of certain indicators specified in the fiscal-budgetary framework on next year, on which the construction of next year's budget is based.

The cabinet meeting is expected to begin and pass all the draft laws on next year's budgets and send them to Parliament, which will debate and approve them next week.

Also from the meeting it is necessary to find out what decision Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and the leaders of the education union sought, because they met with the Prime Minister today and after that they said that the two salary increases in the field next year will be the subject of a separate emergency ordinance.
