The Government completed the form of the new car tax applied as environmental stamp with a different formula, which leads to an increase in average about 10 percent of the amount payable for Euro 4 and Euro 3 cars and a decrease from 60 percent and 90 percent for cars euro 2, Euro 1 and non-euro.

The environmental stamp will be applied only to machines M1 type (designed for vehicles that carry people which, besides driving seat, have more than eight seats).

Under the new formula, the amount payable will decrease by 60 percent to Euro 2, Euro 1 and 80 percent to 90 percent for non-euro, notes Mediafax.
The fee for non-euro cars, Euro 1 and Euro 2, with outdated technologies, will still be lower than the current one, going on the idea that these machines are running short and therefore will pollute for lower range.

Stamp paid for cars registered before 2007

In a document prepared by the Ministry of Environment and transmitted to the media, it shows that tax rates will remain the same for cars Euro 5, while for Euro 6 hybrid and electric cars will not be paid anything.

Environmental stamp will be calculated mainly based on CO2 emissions, taking into account the entire stamp compared to 30 percent in law, registered in the machine's identity or approval documents.
The stamp will be paid once, at the first registration on the Romanian market, or at first transcription, but not in civil transactions (inheritance or partition).

Stamp will also be paid for cars registered before 2007.

The solution that was chosen is recalculated rates for old cars, depending on the time of life.

People who have paid current pollution tax will not pay stamp environment.
