RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The government approved a draft emergency ordinance regarding leave and the monthly allowance for raising children. Also, a project related to financial support for those who use electricity from renewable sources was voted.

For details, Petruta Obrejan - "Before I tell you what was discussed in the Government meeting, I would just like to add that the salaries of the dignitaries remain at the same level as before, said even the spokesperson of the Government, Dan Carbunaru, stating that there is no intention of increasing them starting from January next year, and, moreover, the current Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca asked for balance, moderation in public spending; and with regard to the decisions taken by the cabinet, over 400 million lei will go in the form of vouchers, through the Rabla program, to the population, to replace conventional light bulbs with new energy-efficient LEDs. Practically, both energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced. Another 500 million lei will go to local communities to support street lighting based on LED lamps. Another ordinance adopted by the executive concerns, as you said, the leave and the monthly allowance for raising children. Through this ordinance, the 2019 European directive is practically transposed into Romanian legislation, which introduces minimum standards regarding paternity leave, child-rearing leave and, last but not least, carer's leave. I would also like to point out that one of the important components of the program 'From care for children' is becoming a reality. Thus, state councilor Madalina Turza says, at the Victoria Palace, that many children in our country will benefit in the shortest possible time from over 70 thousand hours of therapy, psychological counseling and psychotherapeutic support free of charge."
