The EC approved the first payment request from the NRRP made by Romania

The first payment request related to the NRRP could receive final approval from the European Commission, the Minister of Investments and European Projects announced yesterday.
Marcel Bolos specified that it is about the sum of 2.6 billion euros. A second request for payment could be submitted to Brussels next month, when Bucharest will ask for the unlocking of another 3 billion euros, after reaching more than 50 milestones and targets imposed by the NRRP, for the first half of this year.
Minister Bolos believes that in the future payment requests will be approved more easily.
Marcel Bolos: I wouldn't even want to think what it would mean for Romania not to receive this money. I say that at this moment the big thing is that we have the necessary available so that the projects and investments in the NRRP are not in danger and, surely, slowly, these mechanisms will return to normal.
