The Chief of the Defense Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, is leaving on Monday for an official visit to the United States of America.
For 10 days, he will have meetings with the president of the Joint Committee of the Chiefs of Staff, with the heads of categories of forces and with representatives of some security think-tanks.
The visit is part of the sustained strengthening of military cooperation with the United States.
According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense, the existing solid collaboration relations between the two armies are subordinated to the objectives of the Strategic Partnership, pursuing Romania's national interests in promoting stability in Europe.
