New car tax goes into effect Friday.

Known as stamp, the fee will be paid once the first registration or from the first owner's exchange market in Romania, except in cases of inheritance or division.

Also, those who have already paid this fee for pollution will no longer pay stamp.

The Minister of the environment, Rovana Plumb explained the method of calculating the tax.

"The timbre of the environment takes into account the emissions of carbon dioxide, regardless of engine capacity. This was the request from both the citizens and the Association of manufacturers and importers of cars, and from the EU, which, as is well known, calls for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, "said Rovana Plumb.

There are expected proceeds of $ 700 million in new charge

The Ministry of environment expects this year from the stamp proceeds on the average of about 700 million lei of new tax, with 100 million more than it was collected last year.

Money-said Rovana Plumb-will be also used for the program Clunker( Rabla), which resumes next month.

The program will be included cars with pollution standard Euro 3, as well.

The only voucher for disposal should be 1500 euros and for electric cars would be given a voucher of 2000 euros.
