SMURD air rescue point in Constanta

SMURD medical-air point from Constanta was inaugurated on Friday in the presence of Prime Minister Victor Ponta and the State Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Raed Arafat.

An Eurocopter EC 135 helicopter medically equipped will provide the emergency aero medical transportation for the coast, Danube Delta and for counties in southeastern Romania.

SMURD air point from Constanta was inaugurated on Friday in the presence of Prime Minister Victor Ponta and the State Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Raed Arafat.

SMURD point from Constanta will ensure, in collaboration with the point of Bucharest, also the intervention for medical emergencies that may occur on the A2 highway, said Dr. Raed Arafat.

Our correspondent, Mona Constantinescu, broadcasted to us that the aero medical point from Constanta is the sixth item of this kind after Targu Mures, Bucharest, Iasi, Arad and Craiova.

Authorities propose that this year to put also in function other two points of airline operation, one in Galati County and another in the northwest of the country.

Contracts for the purchase of helicopters are already signed by the Ministry of Health.
