Ruling party leader Liviu Dragnea sentenced to jail
Court’s decision is not final and can be appealed to a panel of five judges.

Leader of the Romanian ruling Social-Democratic Party (PSD), Liviu Dragnea was sentenced on Thursday, 21 June, to three years and six months in prison, with execution, for abuse of service, in the form of instigation, in the file of fictitious hiring of staff at the Child Protection Institution (DGASPC) in the County of Teleorman.
Sentence has been pronounced by three judges of the Romanian High Court of Cassation and Justice.
Court’s decision is not final and can be appealed to a panel of five judges.
