Romania will help Syria with food, sleeping bags and clothing

The National Committee for Emergency Situations, convened by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, approved, yesterday, the granting of free support to Syria, consisting of several types of sleeping items and food products, which will be made available by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues.
It is about thousands of cans, 100 tents, 400 beds, mattresses, blankets, sleeping bags, quilted suits, totaling over two million lei.
The funds will be allocated from the budgets of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following which the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will take steps to reimburse, as the case may be, eligible expenses from the budget of the European Union's civil protection mechanism.
