Additional anti-drone defense systems will be brought to Romania, in the context of attacks on Ukrainian ports on the Danube, said President Klaus Iohannis quoted by Agerpres.

He referred to the conversation he had this week with leaders of allied countries, including the US president.

"We discussed the issues related to the drones that fell in Romania, as a result of the Russian attacks on the Danube ports, and I received not only encouragement, but very concrete answers, perhaps the United States allocated additional air police planes. Together with NATO, we are practically clear on how we will bring additional anti-drone defense to that area, we are working on it", said Klaus Iohannis.

He stated that the Romanian army also moved more defense weapons to the area.

"We hope that absolutely no unwanted incidents occur. Anyway, these attacks on Ukrainian ports are war crimes, because there are only civilian infrastructures, there is absolutely nothing military that can be attacked", added the President of Romania.
