Romania, on the penultimate place in the EU for media education

Eurostat data show that only 12% of Romanians checked the information read on news sites or even on social media in 2021. Thus, Romania ranks penultimate in media education, after Lithuania, and at the opposite pole is the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Ireland.
At state level in the European Union, the most popular method of rechecking information was to consult other sites or look for additional details about the source.
