Romania has crossed yesterday the threshold of one million doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine administered since the beginning of the immunization campaign.

More than 330.000 people had their booster. Two days ago, the registrations on the platform dedicated for the immunization campaign resumed, and in 24 hours over 100.000 people made an appointment for vaccination with AstraZeneca.

Reporter: Gabriela Mitrovici - Over 38.000 doses of vaccine have been given in 24 hours, most of them - almost 35.000 - being boosters with Pfizer.

After receiving a total of 1.009.421 doses since the beginning of the campaign, only 2.685 people had minor side effects.

The vaccination with the Moderna serum started last Friday, of which almost 48.000 doses have been administered so far.

The use of the AstraZeneca serum starts on Monday. In the first eight hours since the opening of the new appointment session, wednesday morning, over 80.000 people signed up for vaccination.

The average number for appointments in 24 hours was 4.500 per hour.

The appointment for the AstraZeneca vaccine is made for a 20-day session, between February 15 and March 6.

Subsequently, new slots will be allocated every day that will allow appointments until April 11. For the good development of the vaccination process, 180 new offices were opened at national level, of which 22 in the capital.
