Romania expresses solidarity with the UK over cyber attacks
MAE reaffirms Romania's firm commitment to support the fight against cyber-aggression.

Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) expresses its solidarity with the United Kingdom, following declaration of British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who accused on Thursday the Russian Military Intelligence Service, GRU, of launching a wave of cyber-attacks, to create confusion, to undermine Western democracies.
It is possible that GRU was behind the attacks targeting, inter alia, World Anti-Doping Agency in 2017, the leadership of the US Democratic Party in 2016, and a British Television Station in 2015.
Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states in press release that Romania, as an EU and NATO Member State, located in proximity to regions marked by instability, is also facing such challenges. MAE reaffirms Romania's firm commitment to support the fight against cyber-aggression.
