On the occasion of the National Day, Radio Romania launched Radio Chisinau, the newest station of the Romanian public Radio, developed in collaboration with the Department for Romanians from everywhere within the Romanian government.

At 14:00, the exact time was broadcasted at Radio Romania in Chisinau.

Radio Chisinau is characterized by an editorial content created by a young and professional team.

The new station addresses to a young audience interested in the cultural actuality and in modern news and entertainment programs.

The Romanian President Traian Basescu said that the opening of the Radio Chisinau station on the National Day is a sign of respect for the Romanians living beyond the Prut, an event with a special symbolism.

"I have full confidence that the launch of the Radio Chisinau station, the newest station of the Romanian public radio represents a bridge between the Romanians from everywhere," said the state chief.

The Prime Minister Emil Boc believes that Radio Chisinau will contribute to promoting the authentic cultural values of the Romanians in the neighboring state and will create a communication bridge between the two societies.

"Romanians around this region will have information about what happens in Romania and the EU, and the Romanian public will be in touch with the realities of Bessarabia," said the Prime Minister of Romania.

For Victor Ponta, the President of the SDP, the inauguration of this new radio station is a sign that the close ties between Romania and the Republic of Moldova will continue and will even strengthen in the future.

"This is a sign that there is an interest to continue the natural normal relations, firstly of language, culture, traditions and I hope this news is as useful as possible for everyone who will listen it," said Victor Ponta.

The Radio Romania Involvement, "guaranteed by experience and credibility"

The events in Chisinau on the occasion of launching the new Radio Romania station took place on December 1st, all day-long.

The President General Director of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company, István András Demeter said that the involvement in the Radio Romania Chisinau project is guaranteed by the experience and credibility gained during the 83 years of public radio in Romania.

The editorial director of Radio Chisinau, the journalist Marian Voicu, expressed his conviction that Radio Chisinau will be one of the best radio station in the Republic of Moldova, for the team is one of the best and their professionalism will be doubled by the philosophy and values of Radio Romania.

On December 1st it was also launched the station's website, www.radiochisinau.md, through which the public will be able to listen the schedule of the station in real time, will have access to the archive of news, programs, multimedia gallery and will interact with the team of the station through messages and comments.

Catalin Gombos, editor-in-chief of the Radio Chisinau news department, said on the “Matinal”Radio Romania show that programs focus on news broadcasts because "informative shows are missing in the radio market in Moldova".
