Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă is on official visit in the Gulf Area - in Muscat (Oman Sultanate), and Doha (Qatar State) - informs a press release of the Romanian Government. Visit (3-8 November) aims "to strengthen bilateral political dialogue and economic and sectoral cooperation".

On Monday, November 5, Prime Minister Dăncilă attended the opening ceremony of the Embassy of Romania in Muscat. Opening of the Romanian diplomatic mission in the Sultanate of Oman represents a pragmatic materialization of the actions carried out by the Bucharest Government, based on the Program for Government 2017 -2020, of strengthening the bilateral relations with the Gulf countries.

Romanian Prime Minister also had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said. Head of the Romanian Executive conveyed the commitment of the Government in Bucharest to strengthening and expanding cooperation in the fields of common interest for both parties. Prime Minister referred to concrete opportunities for sectoral collaboration, in such domains such as: agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, education, culture, health, research and innovation. Viorica Dăncilă also showed that Romania has an attractive business environment, improved through recent legislative changes, such as the ones brought to the law on public-private partnership.

Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, mentioned the openness of the Omani authorities to work with Romanian counterparts in all areas of common interest. At the same time, the high-ranking Omani dignitary highlighted the existence of numerous opportunities for investment, which can be achieved in both directions of the bilateral relationship. His Highness emphasized the importance of cooperation at the level of the two Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as the exchange of experience between the Omani and Romanian companies. At the same time, His Highness suggested deepening exchanges of good practice in the field of public-private partnership.

Agenda of the visit to the Qatar State includes meetings with the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the Qatar State, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser al-Missned, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar State, Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, President of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the Sovereign Investment Fund of Qatar and the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim bin Faisal Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Businessmen Association, says the release.
