Over 2.100 new cases of COVID-19 announced today lead to over 21.800 total cases diagnosed since Tuesday, when daily reporting resumed. In the whole of last week, there were less than 15.000, which indicates a consistent increase in the number of infections.
In fact, the authorities expect the trend to continue for at least another month. The number of people with coronavirus hospitalized in the country is also increasing significantly. It reached 2.000, double compared to a week ago. 108 patients are in intensive care, including two children.
One death associated with COVID-19 was also announced this afternoon.
