Operations at Bank of Cyprus Romania are halted

The Central Bank of Cyprus has decided to extend the suspension of operations at the Romanian subsidiary Bank of Cyprus until Wednesday, according to a statement released by the institution.

The Romanian National Bank has been notified about the decision.

Customers will still be able to use the ATM networks, and in case of special emergencies, they are advised to contact the call-center of the Bank of Cyprus Romania.

The activity of this financial institution was due to resume today, after a three week break, in which the Central Bank of Cyprus has sought solutions to sell the subsidiary to another bank of to transfer its deposits.
