Opening of Transfăgărăşan postponed until weather improves

Transfăgărăşan High Altitude Road remains closed between Piscul Negru and Bâlea Cascadă, for all categories of motor vehicles, given the weather warning issued by the National Meteorological Administration, which announces abundant rainfall Code for several counties, including Sibiu, located on National Road (DN) 7C, National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has announced on Friday.

"We emphasize that the meteorological phenomena manifested by atmospheric instability and abundant rainfall represent a real danger for the participants in traffic, especially at high altitude, as is the case with Transfăgărăşan. CNAIR will open this road after weather conditions improve and after checking the state of the road, so that it meets the safety conditions for those who choose this route", says CNAIR communiqué.

CNAIR calls on drivers to travel cautiously, adjust speed to traffic conditions, and respect temporarily imposed restrictions.
