Nicolae Hurduc new Romanian Minister of Research and Innovation

Hurduc (62) is a Chemical Engineer, Dean of the Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection Faculty within the “Gheorghe Asachi” University in Iași.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis signed on Friday a decree appointing Nicolae Hurduc as Minister of Research and Innovation, Presidential Administration announced.

Nicolae Hurduc (aged 62) is a Chemical Engineer and Dean of the Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection Faculty within the “Gheorghe Asachi” University in Iași, where he works as a professor since 2001.

Hurduc replaces Nicolae Burnete, who resigned at the end of August.

Oath-taking ceremony of new minister in PM Viorica Dăncilă's cabinet is to take place on Monday.
