New Romanian Government led by Ludovic Orban has taken office on Tuesday and is to have its first meeting on Wednesday, November 6, at 12:00.

According to Prime Minister Orban, agenda includes Emergency Ordinance regarding reduction of the number of ministries, and granting compensatory income required by the miners from the Paroşeni and Uricani sites, who are to have their working contracts ended.

New ministers have presented their priorities in the presence of Prime Minister Orban and President Klaus Iohannis.

New Finance Minister, Florin Cîţu, intends that next year's draft budget be finalized by December 15, but announces a budget rectification for this year. Another priority is restructuring the National Agency for Fiscal Administration ( ANAF).

Significant reforms have been announced at the Ministry of Internal Affairs - increase the security of Romanian citizens and depoliticize the institution. Zero politicization, maximum professionalization, total war against criminals, promises the new Interior Minister Marcel Vela.

At the Ministry of Defense, focus will be strengthening strategic partnerships. New Defense Minister is Nicolae Ciucă, with a thorough military career and a strong commitment in the service of the country.

Minister of Labour, Violeta Alexandru announces serious checks on the situation of the pension budget, given that the Social Democrats (PSD) have left a worrying deficit. It also promises transparency and information on all types of services and benefits offered by the institution.

Justice Minister Cătălin Predoiu has said he is aware of the expectations of the citizens and has called on magistrates to serve in a professional manner.

New Head of Romanian Diplomacy, Bogdan Aurescu, has announced reforms and has required a report to ensure the smooth running of the vote abroad in the presidential elections.
