Mircea Diaconu was indicted by prosecutors of the supreme court for conflict of interest, notify the editor of RRA, Gabriel Klimowicz.

According to prosecutors, Mircea Diaconu, as a senator in the Romanian parliament and as Director of Nottara Theatre, negotiated an agreement in 2007, and signed, having as object the realisation, by his wife, of a show.

In the same quality as directory, Mircea Diaconu has also negotiated contracts for another three shows, all with his wife, from which conducted a material benefit for himself.
According to the indictment, through the four contracts, his wife has received nearly 30 thousand lei.

The file is supposed to be solved by the High Court of Cassation and Justice.

In June this year, the Supreme Court magistrates rejected the appeal filed by Mircea Diaconu, and thus upheld the Court of Appeal, through which was found incompatible in 2008-2011, when he combined the roles of director of Theatre Nottara and the Senate of the parliament of Romania.

According to law, Mircea Diaconu had to be dismissed from the Ministry of Culture function, the held public office.

The National Integrity Agency declared the liberal Senator incompatible, having found that it was at the same time, parliamentary and theater director.

Mircea Diaconu claimed, in his defense, that in 2008, when he was elected senator, the legislature considered that he can perform the two functions simultaneously.
