Minister Bogdan Trif: EU should pay more attention to tourism

European Union should pay more attention to tourism in order to remain the first in the world in this chapter, says Romanian Tourism Minister Bogdan Trif.

He spoke at the conference "Sustainable Tourism - Common Policies of EU Member States", organized in the context of Romania's EU Council Presidency.

As Bogdan Trif also said, integration of new technologies and enhancing environmental protection efforts are essential for the development of sustainable tourism.

Bogdan Trif: It is important we have an integrated, economic, social, but especially environment-focused thinking, because sustainable tourism primarily means protection of the environment. We have extremely important objectives, such as the Danube Delta, which we must take care of, because uncontrolled tourism might affect these ecosystems, and this might not be good for the future generations.
