Tariffs for the journey by Metro will increase, as of Saturday, informs on Friday, Metrorex, in a press release

Thus, as of August 4th, the tariffs for the card with 10 trips will be 15 Lei, the weekly subscription with unlimited number of trips- 20 Lei, the monthly subscription with unlimited number of trips- 60 Lei, the monthly subscription with 62 trips- 50 Lei, and one-day subscription- 6 Lei.

Tariffs for card with two trips and one-day subscription remain unchanged, 4 and 6 lei Lei.

According to Metrorex, the subway travel cards purchased until 3 August, inclusive, may be used until the completion of the number of trips or the expiry of validity entered on the card at the time of purchase.

Subway users can move throughout the entire subway network in Bucharest, on all four main lines and 51 stations, by paying a one-time fee, the travel transfer of one line to the other, regardless of the title of journey used, with no additional charge and without limitation in time of the trip.

The transport company justifies the renewed by the fact that this increase in charges was at the basis of balanced construction of the revenue and expenditure budget in 2012 of Metrorex, in the context of measures and targets set in relation to The International Monetary Fund, The World Bank and the European Commission.

Beginning with August 4, 2012, tariffs at the journey by Metro shall be adjusted as follows:

10 trip card - 10 Lei (old) 15 Lei (new)

Weekly subscription with unlimited number of trips - 15 Lei (old) 20 Lei (new)

Monthly subscription with unlimited number of trips - 50 Lei (old) 60 Lei (new)

Monthly subscription with 62 trips - 35 Lei (old) 50 Lei (new)
