Memorandum on "Vertical Corridor" Gas Transmission

Representatives of the gas transmission system operators in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary will sign today in Bucharest the Memorandum on Understanding on the Vertical Corridor for gas transmission in the North-South direction.

The Memorandum embodies the European Union's plans to diversify energy sources in order to achieve a higher level of energy security on the continent.

TRANSGAZ representatives say that the new infrastructure will create jobs in Romania, and will offer the opportunity to connect to the gas sources from the Black Sea exploitations, according to RRA Reporter Bogdan Isopescu.
