Media 2020 opens "a new horizon for communication between Europe and Asia"

Ever since its first editition in 2015, this Media Conference - organized by Radio Romania in partnership with Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) – has opened a new horizon of communication between Europe and Asia, said President-Director General of the Romanian Broadcasting Society (Radio Romania), Georgică Severin, at the official opening of the event.
„We must look to the future and focus on what unites us. In a complex world where we face common difficulties, ranging from economic and political difficulties to the new digital age, sharing our experiences and good practices is a necessity. It is my belief that only together can we overcome these drawbacks”, Georgică Severin underlined.
„The audience of public media services needs independent, impartial and trustworthy news, that have to be made by professionals. We must not forget that public media services must create quality content, public services must be centers of excellence, we must not only have a cameraman or a producer, but the best cameraman or the best producer, because this is essential in the survival of public media services”, said in turn ABU Secretary General, dr. Javad Mottaghi.
