Lieutenant General Vlad Gheorghita, appointed Chief of the Defense Staff

President Klaus Iohannis signed, on Wednesday, the decree regarding the appointment of three-star lieutenant general Vlad Gheorghita from the Ministry of National Defense as Chief of the Defense Staff, on December 1, the Presidential Administration announced.
Also, the head of state signed the decree regarding Vlad Gheorghita's promotion to the rank of general - with four stars, on December 1.
Vlad Gheorghita is deputy chief of the Defense General Staff.
He replaces General Daniel Petrescu as Chief of the Defense Staff.
